ISO CERTIFICATION:
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

ISO is fast becoming a requirement, and all this talk of standards, registry, and certification can be pretty darn confusing. Sports Art America's product line is made with ISO 9001 and 9002 certification and registry, and we'd like to clear up the confusion over ISO.

ISO is the abbreviation for International Standards Organization. 9000 refers to the series of standards which are numbered in the 9000 range.

ISO 9001 is a quality assurance model that is used by companies which design, produce, inspect, test, install, and service items. (For example, a manufacturer that designs and produces treadmills.)

ISO 9002 is a quality assurance model that is used by companies that produce, inspect, test, install and service items. (For example, a manufacturer that produces but does not design treadmills.)

What does ISO registry mean for the fitness industry, or any industry?

ISO registry means a stricter adherence to procedures and policies to ensure the highest quality possible. ISO registry is fast becoming the standard, and companies without ISO registry are beginning to see customers requesting ISO registry from their suppliers.

    ISO Results In:

Higher quality, and better procedures within the quality system.

That's why Sports Art America feels it is so important to emphasize ISO registry. Sports Art has been an ISO 9001 and 9002 registered manufacturer for four years [as of this printing in 1998], and received registry from the TUV/Germany organization, recognized as the toughest of all. Sports Art was one of the first two companies in the entire worldwide fitness industry to receive ISO certification.

Quality can be the difference between success and failure in the fitness industry. Sports Art America's commitment to ISO standards is your assurance of quality in every Sports Art product.
